NHL Prospect Tournament; Detroit Red Wings Training Camp Return to Centre Ice Arena for 21st Time
Events Welcome New Presenting Sponsors Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel and
Canadian Team to Participate for First Time in Tournament History
Traverse City, Michigan – Centre Ice Arena staff and over 200 dedicated volunteers are gearing up to host the NHL Prospect Tournament and Detroit Red Wings Training Camp for the twenty-first time. Both events welcome new presenting sponsors for 2019. Detroit Red Wings Training Camp is presented by Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel; NHL Prospect Tournament by LC Materials.
According to Mike Schrader, CEO of Grand Traverse Resort and Casinos Economic Development Corporation, “It’s an honor for Turtle Creek Casino to be the presenting sponsor for the 2019 Detroit Red Wings Training Camp. Centre Ice is an integral part of the Traverse City community and the work they do each year to host the Detroit Red Wings Training Camp is truly impressive. Our staff is very excited to be associated with this event. We welcome the Red Wings to Traverse City and look forward to the upcoming season!”
Additionally, Turtle Creek Casino will have a special interactive ‘tailgate zone’ set up outside the arena during the Alumni & Celebrity and Red & White games. Casino staff will be inside Centre Ice for the duration of training camp, promoting their facilities while offering giveaway items to the fans.
LC Materials, a locally owned and operated concrete company, is the NHL Prospect Tournament presenting sponsor. “As northern Michigan’s leading concrete producer, we recognize hard work,” said Kevin Clark, an LC Materials representative. “LC Materials is honored to be the NHL Prospect Tournament’s presenting sponsor as the event returns to Traverse City for its 21st season. This is the battle ground where top NHL prospects gather to fight for their dream of making the big stage. Over the tournament's history, over 600 players have moved on to play in the NHL, including 23 of the 38 players who played for the Red Wings last season. LC Materials welcomes the NHL prospects and wish them all the best. Come see these future stars in action!”
According to Tom Rodes, Director of Red Wings Camps, “We are extremely grateful for the support of two presenting sponsors for 2019. Prospect tournament and Red Wings camp are the largest fundraisers of the year for Centre Ice Arena, a local nonprofit organization. Not only is the financial support greatly appreciated, but the cross promotion by these organizations as well as the excitement they bring enhances the experience for everyone. Please take a moment to stop by their booths and thank them for their support.”
In addition to the presenting sponsors, Centre Ice Arena welcomes new David’s Rink sponsor Bill Marsh Auto Group. On Saturday, September 7, Bill Marsh Auto Group will be formally announced as the newest David’s Rink sponsor with a ceremonial puck drop before the 3:00 pm Toronto vs Chicago game during the NHL Prospect Tournament. Other David’s Rink sponsors include A+ Concrete, Bayshore Resort and Pepsi. Bill Marsh Auto Group is also the transportation provider for all Detroit Red Wings events in Traverse City.
