Traverse City’s Center ICE Arena Will Again Host Red Wings Prospects …
DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings will hold their annual prospects development camp at Center ICE Arena in Traverse City, Mich., for the fourth consecutive year from July 4-8.
All practices will be open to the public, including an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, July 5. Tickets will be available only at Center ICE Arena for $5 per day at the door on each day of the event.
A full schedule for development camp and a preliminary roster will be announced at a later date.
The team’s roster will be comprised primarily of players drafted by Detroit and will include select choices made by the team at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, which will be held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on June 27-28, as well as undrafted collegiate free agents.
The past three development camps have included 13 players who made their NHL debuts for Detroit over the last two seasons: Adam Almquist, Mitch Callahan, Danny DeKeyser, Landon Ferraro, Luke Glendening, Tomas Jurco, Brian Lashoff, Alexey Marchenko, Petr Mrazek, Gustav Nyquist, Xavier Ouellet, Teemu Pulkkinen and Ryan Sproul.
Center ICE Arena has annually hosted Red Wings events since 1997, including the summer development camp and an NHL prospects tournament that has expanded to eight teams, held in September before Detroit’s main training camp.
